Thank you for your interest in VCM! We are an experienced team who LOVE birth and supporting women and families in our community. We used midwives for most of our births and have had home births and cesareans. We gaze at the stars and remember the midwives who came before us and seek their guidance. We believe in and practice evidence-based medicine. We laugh sometimes so hard a little pee comes out. We believe that every person should be an active participant in their healthcare choices. We believe that "Shared-Decision Making" is a foundation of our midwifery care. We believe that humility and a good sense of humor goes a long way. We believe that birth is a normal, natural family-centered event. We are grateful for nurses, physicians, and hospitals for those handful of times where home birth is not an option. We recognize that there are huge maternal health disparities for marginalized communities and we are committed to addressing those disparities in Vancouver. We strive to remain teachable. Our goal has been, and always will be, providing the highest quality, compassionate midwifery care, and empowering you, whether it is your first birth or you're a seasoned pro!

You come first. 💛 We build genuine, deep relationships and we feel grateful and honored to be a part of this special, sacred time in your life. It's something we never take for granted. We absolutely love what we do and our patients, and we go above and beyond clinical care. You will never feel like just "a number." We aim to educate and inform you of your options and all decisions are ultimately yours. We're here for you every step of the way, as qualified healthcare providers, and as girlfriends and mothers who understand this season and have walked the path before. And, we're just fun, loving, and down to earth gals who are crazy passionate about the beauty of birth and magic of motherhood!

Midwifery care and plant medicine have been intertwined since the beginning of time. Our botanical training is in Women's Healthcare and we specialize in the childbearing year. It is as much a part of our care as midwifery is. We have an on-site apothecary and formulate for our families on a daily basis. Puking your guts out? Let us make you a Chamomile and Meadowsweet tincture? Hemorrhoids? Try some Nettles. Insomnia? Meet my little friend Skullcap. Excessive Braxton Hicks contractions? Try our 'Cranky Uterus" formula. All of the medicines that we formulate for you are included in your care. We do not nickel and dime you death or try to up-sell you on anything.
